Chicago Bulls / Sox Training Academy

Chicago Bulls/Sox Training Academy

The Chicago Bulls / Sox Training Academy opened in 2001 and runs extensive training programs for boys and girls from beginner to professional. The official summer camp programs of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox have helped over 50,000 children develop their baseball, fastpitch softball and/or basketball skills over the past seventeen years. There are additional satellite White Sox Academies in Glen Ellyn, LaGrange, Tinley Park and Northwest Indiana.

"This Academy has done a wonderful job in training the young athlete for nearly a decade. We are now in position to reach out to the child who is at risk of becoming a statistic in this terrible surge in childhood obesity. Exergame Fitness has led us to the most effective Exergaming products in the world. Their assistance was crucial in creating The Vault, which we believe will lead the charge in getting kids moving…and loving it. Our partnership with Exergame Fitness was crucial because we were consulted on getting the most effective and recommended Exergaming products through their advisory board and their affiliation with the TEN Network (The Exergaming Network)."

Sierra Vista Jr. High School

One of the long standing professional strengths of educators is their willingness to share ideas and programs that are working with other teachers and principals.  This professional courtesy has helped thousands of other schools and children to benefit from the original school's hard work and success.  For example, if a school is getting great results in reading the school and teachers invite people in to hear how they constructed their success or present at state and national conferences so they can give that same advantage to others.

One of the best examples in physical education has been work lead by George Velarde and his team at Sierra Vista Middle School in Canyon Country, California.  Over the past several years, they have developed a model program in physical education, and they, too, are willing to share their success with other professionals. Sierra Vista has established 6 Physcial Education demonstration days in order to share their outstanding work.  Any school that is interested in improving their program would greatly benefit by visiting George's school on one of these  demonstration days.   One will definitely walk away from the visit with big ideas on how to improve your own physical education curriculum.
